Together Again

Ahhh, true love, these two have it. I was so pleased to have the opportunity to document Brian's homecoming from Afghanistan. His wife happens to be one of my best friends and she was so excited to see him again. She had every right to be also. His deployment was definitely not an easy one and was more dangerous than usual as well.

Homecomings are always a bit chaotic once the guys get off their bus and this one was no different. I followed Vanessa through the crowd into a sea of desert cammies where every Marine and Corpsman looked identical. Somehow she found Brian and called out his name and at last the two were reunited. As a military wife I understand the relief and happiness Vanessa must have felt to have her husband back in her arms. My husband returned from a 6 month deployment in July of this year and the moment we shared together after those long months was priceless and I am so thankful that I had a photographer there to capture it.
**By the way, somehow these were uploaded opposite of how they were intended. The last photo is Vanessa seeing the buses pull up, then seeing Brian, etc.

Baby Cameron

With all these wedding blogs I felt it was time to switch it up a bit, and what better way to do that than with a cute and cuddly baby. The cutie above is baby Cameron and him and his parents were a pleasure to work with. As a photographer running my own business I find myself constantly setting goals for myself, or thinking of things I'd like to do and lately watching my clients grow up has been a goal of mine. I would love to have clients return to me throughout their lives and I think it is the best compliment to be allowed the privilege of watching a child grow in front of my very eyes, to be chosen to document that growth is quite astonishing also, because like weddings and every other photo session, I am capturing time that is irreplaceable. At such a young age though, it is even more special because babies keep their parents so busy it's easy to forget just how small they were, or just how cute their little feet used to be. Hopefully I will have the honor of documenting Cameron's first year which I would be thrilled to do.

Shaunna and Jason, a Vegas Adventure

This is a wedding I did over the summer, July 5th to be exact, and it was truly a blast. It was my second time in Vegas and Shaunna is a good friend and fellow photographer. We stayed at the luxurious red rock hotel and enjoyed pool views as well as a free poolside concert the evening of the wedding. Shaunna and Jason were married in The Little Chapel of the Flowers and sadly management wouldn't allow any outside photography (they have their own photographer). The ceremony was beautiful and I had to fight the tears off because it was just that sweet. It was a blast and I can't wait for my next Vegas wedding.

Larry and Nicole, from Jersey to Cali

Yesterday, October 14th, I photographed an awesome couple from New Jersey, Nicole and Larry. They are such a fun couple and their son Jordan was hilarious. The wedding was short and sweet and took place in Indio followed by a beautiful reception in Palm Springs in the couple's backyard. It was also my 2 year wedding anniversary and I thought documenting another couple on their big day was a great way to celebrate even though my husband Nick was at home with our daughter. We are planning on celebrating this Saturday. Oh, by the way, the pug was the maid of honor and her chihuahua counterpart (not pictured) was a bridesmaid, they did a wonderful job.

Holm Wedding

On Saturday October 11th I had the privilege of photographing Kristy and Eric Holm tie the knot. The wedding was beautiful and they are such a cute couple, they have so much love for each other, which I hope is made evident in the photos I took of them.
