I hope everyone has had a great summer! I know I did but man was it busy! Between 2 trips out of state, taking care of my little handful, I mean 8 month old, and photo sessions I've hardly even had time to update this blog! Anyway, here are some of my favorite shots from the summer:

Autumn

I love autumn, it's my favorite season for many reasons. It means that the holidays are coming up, it means I get to wear my cool weather clothes, it means I get to make stews and bake holiday cookies for my neighbors, but most importantly it means I get to say goodbye to the summer heat! Is is just me or was this summer pretty intense? Anyway, while it's not officially autumn just yet I know it's just around the corner and I'm very excited for it.

Because of that I think I need to offer a special, in honor of my favorite time of year I think I will give 15% off any digital package in the months of September or October!

A word about props

If you've had a session with me then you know I come to the session with only one thing, my camera. While I love props and think they can add an extra dimension to photos I rarely bring them with me. The reason for that is because I feel props are a personal expression and choice. So, I urge you to bring anything from home that you find meaningful to the session.







I'll use myself as an example. One day, when I finally decide on a photographer to capture my family photos I will bring with me this book:











I love this book, it symbolizes my exact feelings towards my children and I would love a photo, maybe in black and white, of me reading it to my two girls.





I might also bring this:


Yep, that's Ranger, my boxer dog who we adore, especially my children. She reminds me of Nana from Peter Pan, always watching over my babies. I can just imagine, a photo of my girls loving on their Ranger.

I might also bring my eldest daughter's gadgets, she is a gadget queen with her mp3 player, Nintendo DS, and her mini laptop. I would love to capture her, with the look of intense concentration on her face while playing her DS, or rocking out to her favorite songs on her mp3 player. And yes, I would totally put that on my wall. Probably in a storyboard :)

So next time you are having photos done and you want something a little more personal please, please, please bring props along!

Fathers Day Special

I apologize for the delay in getting this special posted but I really wanted to offer something unique to the daddies out there. I actually have three different specials depending on your needs so here they are:

2. Full Session with 5x5 session book $60(a $90 value!!)
**The session album is a new and really, really exciting product that I am now offering! It's a soft cover book with all of the session photos! So every image that you see uploaded onto your password protected album will be in the book, unless you don't want it in there. Can you tell that I'm really excited about this product?

3. Full Session with three 3x3 accordion style books $55 (an $80 value)
*Yet another new product that I am offering. I will have photos of these soon because I ordered some of my kiddos to mail out to the dads in my life. They come with 12 photos, and the book folds like an accordion.

OK so there you have it, some really awesome deals for fathers day! I just want to point out a couple of things though. The 5x5 full session album is a great gift if Dad is deployed this fathers day; he can easily carry it with him wherever he goes. The accordion books are also nice for deployed dads but you get 3 of them so if you've got more than one dad to give gifts to (i.e. father in law, father, husband) then these are perfect!

Daddies and Babies

I don't think there are many things sweeter than a daddy cuddling with his baby (except for the cheesecake I had last night but that's another story) so in honor of loving dads here is a little photo montage of my favorite dad and baby photos.
